The S.T.A.R. Program

New Horizons primary objective has been to keep families together whenever possible, by providing services and resources designed to strengthen and develop positive, healthy living skills. S.T.A.R. program focuses on in-home family support, advocacy and universal child abuse prevention services for children, youth, and their families.

All services are provided FREE of charge!

S.T.A.R. services are preventive in focus and include:

  • Coordination of Community Resources
  • Intake/Screening & Crisis Intervention
  • Individualized, Strengths-based Case Planning for Children & Families
  • Short-term Child & Family Counseling
  • Emergency, Short-term respite
  • Skills based training
  • Reunification Support for children returning home following placement
  • Universal Child Abuse and Child Maltreatment education and prevention services

Services are provided to families with children and youth between the ages of 0 and 17 who fit the following description:

  • Runaway Youth
  • Truant
  • Youth involved in Legal Offenses
  • Family Conflict
