Therapeutic
Foster Care (CPA) develops and provides therapeutic foster homes
for children and youth whose needs exceed the structure
provided in ordinary homes but do not necessarily require placement
in the residential treatment facility.
Residential
Treatment (RTC) provides intensive inpatient treatment programs
for boys and girls ranging in ages 7-17, suffering from emotional,
behavioral, and adjustment problems.
Emergency
Shelter & Assessment Center (ESAC) provides emergency
placement for children and youth who must leave their families or
other placements due to behavior that warrants immediate assessment
of emotional or traumatic condition.
Adoptions
Families interested in adopting a child are first trained as foster
parents. Many children in foster care are available for adoption and
being in foster care first provides a learning experience for the
child and foster parent. As a bond develops between the child and
foster parents, a smooth transition can be made to an adoption.
S.T.A.R. New
Horizons is a S.T.A.R. services provider that delivers in-home
crisis intervention and counseling services to families with
children ages 0-17 who are experiencing one of the following:
Family
Connections is a New Horizons program that assists families
with community needs and supports the family with special needs and
counciling.
Runaway, Truant, Family Conflict,
or are involved in legal offenses.
These services are
available in Brown, Mills, San Saba, Coleman, Taylor, Jones and
McCullough counties in
Texas
.
